About Our Cottage Vacations
A getaway at Waupoos Family Farm is a unique opportunity to have fun, make friends, and create lasting family memories
We offer summer sessions, as well as select long weekend getaways year-round, for low-income families with children aged 16 and under.
Waupoos has all the ingredients for a memorable family holiday in this beautiful country setting of a 180-acre farm.
Accommodations
There are five private cottages available to visiting families.
Cottages have a full kitchen, three bedrooms, a three-piece bathroom (with shower), an eating area, a living area, cooking appliances, dishes, and bedding.
Common areas include:
- lodge (with games room for teens)
- chapel
- playground
- swimming pool
- rink/basketball court
- volleyball court
The lodge, chapel, and one cottage are wheelchair accessible.
Applying for a Cottage Vacation
To qualify for a cottage vacation at Waupoos, a family must meet the following criteria:
At least one child is 16 years of age or under.
Either:
- The family meets the Statistics Canada Low-Income Cut-Off (LICO), OR
- Mobility limitations of at least one family member restrict vacation options to the accessibility provided at Waupoos Family Farm.
- And, for Summer Vacations ONLY: This is the only family vacation longer than two nights away from home from June to September of the current year.

Summer Sessions
Visiting Waupoos is sure to be the highlight of your summer!
During the summer at Waupoos, families can enjoy the outdoor pool, playground, bicycles, and basketball and volleyball courts. Our grounds are open and spacious, perfect for children to experience the freedom of being outside in a safe environment. Children are also invited to participate in morning swimming lessons offered by our certified lifeguard.
Our hosts, farm residents, and summer staff prepare various activities for our visitors, including arts and crafts, baking, games, sports, hiking, bonfires, and more. A vacation at Waupoos will be one you won’t forget!
The summer application deadline is May 1st each year. Although we continue to accept applications after that date, it will be for the waiting list.

Week 3: July 15 – July 20
Week 4: July 22 – July 27
Week 5: July 29 – Aug. 3
Week 6: Aug. 5 – Aug. 10
Week 7: Aug. 12 – Aug. 17
Week 8: Aug. 19 – Aug. 24
School-Year Sessions
During the school year, Waupoos offers many fun indoor and outdoor activities. Enjoy our sledding hill or skating rink located a few steps from your cottage! Warm-up after outdoor activities with a steaming cup of hot chocolate in the lodge and catch up with friends! School-year sessions run on some long weekends.
During Christmas and New Year’s holidays, we offer 5-day sessions.
Our special holiday programming will give your family plenty of opportunities to create great memories!
To find out if your family qualifies for a cottage session, consult the application criteria. School year applications are accepted throughout the year.
School-Year Vacation Dates 2024-2025:
- Thanksgiving 2024: Оctober. 11-14: $40
- Christmas 2024: December 23-27: $50
- New Year’s: December 30, 2024-January 3, 2025: $50
- Easter 2025: April 17-21: $50
- Victoria Day 2024: May 16-19: $40
** You do not need to pay when application is submitted for school year vacations.
How to Apply and Pay for a Vacation
If you meet the above criteria and are interested in a vacation at Waupoos Farm, please complete the appropriate school year or summer application form and send it to us. Book early to avoid disappointment!
Application forms are fillable. (That means families can complete it on their device).
Here’s how: Download and save the application form, fill it in, and save it again. Then email it to us.
Please note: Summer sessions are very popular. Payment must be received with the application to reserve a cottage or maintain order of priority on the waiting list. All fees are per family (those living at the same address). The cost per family for a summer vacation is $75.00.

Fees can be paid by email (to contact@waupoos.com) or cash or money order. We do not accept cheques.
Refunds will only be issued to those who do not get a booking. There will be no refunds on accepted applications.

Please note at Waupoos, priority is given to first-time guests. Families can vacation only once per season in a given year.

Planning your Vacation: What to Bring
Food and Drinks
- food for the duration of your stay at Waupoos
- drinks: (tea/coffee/juice, etc)
- items like foil, plastic wrap, paper towels and napkins are also useful
Toiletries
- toothpaste/toothbrushes
- towels/washcloths for showering
- soap
- shampoo/conditioner
- hair dryer
- sunscreen
- insect repellent (there are mosquitos and ticks)
** Don’t forget your flashlight!
Clothing
- All Seasons:
- socks
- undergarments
- light jacket for cool evenings
- raincoat and boots
- extra clothing for muddy days
- long pants (for late-night bonfires, if permitted)
- long-sleeve shirts
- footwear is mandatory in all facilities (plan to bring flip-flops/ crocs/ sandals)
