Cottages are closed up after New Year’s vacation and are not reopened until late March. Winter can be quiet at Waupoos. It can also can be challenging and this winter was no exception. Our main tractor had mechanical issues and needed repair. Snow clearing was done using snowblowers!
In February, we were invited by 100MenWho Care to tell them more about Waupoos, what we do and our current needs. They raised and donated over $4000 to help us provide programming this year!
We reopened cottages for weekend vacations at Easter and Victoria Day. We also hosted several group rentals in April, May and June. These rentals help us raise funds to support our mission. Spring also allows some opportunities to welcome volunteers who help tidy up after the long winter and prepare for summer vacations.
Our Spring Cleanup Day was an amazing success. Thank you to the many volunteers who came to help out!
