Farm Management Team

The Farm Management Team consists of three volunteer families who live on site. These families collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, work together to maintain the farm grounds and facilities, and most importantly, provide a warm and welcoming presence to our visitors. Each family commits to a 3 year term of residence.

The Farm Management Team is guided by the Farm’s motto of “Pray, Work, Play.” They pray together, share the work of managing the farm, and enjoy a rich community life. They are the face of Waupoos to our visiting families, and as such, strive to embody the spirit of Christian charity and service.

Meet the Families!

Garcias Family

The Garcias

Matias and Lee-Ann Garcia and their four children, Isabel, Gabriel, Clara, and Sofia moved to Waupoos Farm from Barrhaven, Ontario in September 2012. Matias and Lee-Ann met in University through Catholic Christian Outreach and were married in 2003. Feeling called to ministry and to leave city life, the opportunity to live and serve together as a resident family was ideal. They treasure the many memories and relationships they’ve made at Waupoos.

The Bifferts

Kenton and Rebecca Biffert have 6 children: Winter, Tristan, Benedict, Kate, Tavi and Thomas. They are converts to the Catholic faith and their desire is to serve Christ and His Holy Catholic Church together as a family. From 2012-2016, they lived in a Catholic community in Austria where Kenton received a Pontifical degree in Sacred Theology. They discovered Waupoos when discerning the next step on their journey. They moved to the farm in August 2016 and are eager to serve, learn, and love, following the farm’s motto of Pray, Work, Play.

The Dowlings

Cyril and Melody Dowling have been married twenty-six years. They have seven daughters, Hanna, Olivia, Sophia, Bethany, Sarah, Rose, Maria, and four beautiful grandchildren. Hailing from Nova Scotia, they have lived in the Ottawa area for the past twenty-seven years, with the exception of two years in New Brunswick and four years in California. The Waupoos opportunity came to them quite by accident and they felt the Lord calling them to serve in a new way as family. They moved to Waupoos in September 2016 and are looking forward to carrying on the mission and serving the Waupoos community.
